Xiaomi has revealed the SU7, its first electric car to compete with Tesla and Porsche for a spot among the top five automakers in the world. The sedan, known as the SU7, will have cutting-edge autonomous driving features and Xiaomi’s new HyperOS operating system that is compatible with all of Xiaomi’s ecosystem of tablets, smartphones, and other gadgets. It is anticipated that the SU7 will launch in a few months.
To gain traction in the very competitive Chinese energy vehicle sector, Xiaomi has committed to investing $10 billion in automobiles over the course of ten years. There will be two variants of the SU7: one with an 800 km driving range and the other with a 668 km driving range on a single charge
With a third of the Chinese EV market, BYD is expected to be the company’s main rival while Tesla holds a 9% market share.
