Ant Group and Huawei Partner to Create Native HarmonyOS Apps

Estimated read time 1 min read

Chinese financial technology giant Ant Group has partnered with Huawei to develop native applications for the HarmonyOS operating system. The move follows previous collaborations with Alibaba and Meituan. Huawei plans to phase  out support for Android-based apps on all Huawei devices installed with the new platform HarmonyOS Next. The deal comes after Alibaba started developing a native version of DingTalk compatible with HarmonyOS.

Other major Chinese internet companies, including JD.com, NetEase, and Meituan, have also started recruiting developers to build native apps based on HarmonyOS. More than 700 million devices currently run on HarmonyOS, with more than 2.2 million third-party developers creating apps for the platform, according to Huawei.
